One of the great things about New York is the food. It is its own version of Italian, with flavors as bold and distinctive as the city itself. Of course, getting food from there entails a long trip and constant battles with the C.H.U.D.S, or convincing a really friendly delivery guy to make the 3000-mile trek (and you better tip well). That obviously won’t do, and so in the mid-80s two East Coast transplants decided to bring the taste of their home cities on the Atlantic to their new homes on the Pacific. And thus, Amici’s was born.

After taking a tour of East Coast pizzerias, and sampling their goods, which we are sure was an arduous labor of love, the two friends realized that what made a great pizza was a brick oven and 700 degrees. If you combined this with fresh ingredients and a crust to die for, you’d have the amazing pizzas that have kept customers happy for decades now. You can build your own pizza, choosing from over 30 delicious toppings. Or you can choose one of their amazing specialty pizzas, like the Veggie, Siciliano, or their very own New Haven White Clam, a special mix of Clams, Garlic, and Seasonings with Olive Oil and Bacon (No Tomato Sauce). The wide range of tastes with which you can experiment will blow you away.

Amici’s doesn’t stop at pizza, of course. What kind of Italian joint would it be without pasta? Try a four-cheese lasagna, with or without meat sauce. Indulge your inner Dino with fettuccini, either alfredo or with pesto and clams. A baked penne parmigiana with eggplant will bring you to Sicily, or at least Little Italy.
