- Who is Waiter.com?
- Waiter.com is an Internet Company devoted to connecting restaurants to the Internet community. We specialize in online ordering and provide online ordering for every restaurant on our system.
- How much does it cost to use the service?
- The service is completely free of charge for the Internet user. You simply pay the restaurant's usual sitdown, takeout or delivery prices. There is no service charge of any kind - and in fact you can often save money by taking advantage of some of our special online offers.
- Does it really work?
- Yes! We've processed lots and lots of orders already without a hitch. We work hard to make the service reliable, as we know many of you are hungry when you are placing your orders.
- How does it work?
- When you place an order through our web server, our software automatically sends your order to the appropriate restaurant via fax within about 60 seconds. We then verify that the restaurant has received your order.
- How do I know my order has gone through?
- When you complete the checkout process, our computer will tell you that your order has been sent. We take it from there to make sure the restaurant receives your order. You will also typically receive an email confirmation message from us after your order has been confirmed by the restaurant (though you need not wait for this email to know that your order has been sent). If there is any kind of problem with your order, we will attempt to contact you by telephone and/or email. Please make sure to always include a current telephone number where you can be reached, in case we need to contact you.
- I just registered and didn't get assigned a password. What happened?
- After you register, you will receive your initial password by email. Please check your mail right after you register and if all went well, you'll have an intial password along with a welcome message from Waiter.com. Occasionaly, email systems are slow and your password may be delayed, or alternatively you may have specified an incorrect or incomplete email address. In either of these cases, please contact us by telephone (408) 524-8400 or email to get your initial password.
- I forgot my password - what do I do now?
- Don't panic! You can call our customer service line at (408) 524-8400 for help with your password, or alternatively you can email password@waiter.com and describe your trouble. We try to respond to emails promptly, but please call us if you need a faster response (like when you are in the middle of placing an order!) You can also call 1-800-WAITER-9 tollfree if you are out of area.
- Why should I use the service - can't I just use the phone?
- Online ordering provides several advantages over telephone based ordering. For example, you will not receive a busy signal, you will not be put on hold, and your order will be relayed to the restaurant in an accurate fashion. Some users have told us that its easier to convey an order via Waiter.com because either they or the restaurant operator have an accent which sometimes makes it difficult or frustrating to communicate over the telephone. Waiter.com also has additional features such as storing your personal profile - so you need only enter delivery instructions once and can have them automatically inserted into your order. Our saved order feature lets you store your previous orders for near Instant Replay with just two mouse clicks. Some of our very savvy users have been known to place orders in less than 15 seconds!
- Why do I have to Register to use the service?
- Registration is necessary for several reasons. First, we need a working telephone number and email address for you in case we have to contact you about your order. Second, entering your address and cross street when you initially register, will save you from having to fill out the same information when you place delivery orders.
- Do I have to give you my credit card number to use the service?
- No! Registering your credit card number with us is only necessary if you want to place delivery orders and have it charged to your credit card or in some cases if you'd like to have your credit card run ahead of time when you pick up a takeout order. If you only plan to place takeout orders, there is no need to register your credit card number. If you are concerned about sending us credit card information over the Internet, you can give us your credit information over the phone at (408) 524-8400 or fax it to us at (408) 524-8401.
- How do I get my favorite restaurants onto the Waiter.com service?
- If you have a favorite take-out or delivery oriented restaurant that you'd like to see on Waiter.com, please do the following: First, fill out our feedback form, where you can mention the restaurant by name and city. Second, tell the restaurant owner or manager about Waiter.com and have he/she contact our sales department by telephone at (408) 524-8400 or by emailing restaurants@waiter.com. If the restaurant signs up for the service and mentions your name, we'll buy you dinner!
- How do I win free food?
- You can win free food from Waiter.com in a number of ways: by referring friends/colleagues who subsequently register and use the system, by getting restaurant owners to contact us and enroll in the service and by simply placing an order or giving us feedback, you are eligible for our monthly free meal drawings. For details, see our deals page and our list of previous winners.
- How do I save and then replay a previous order?
- You can save an order in two different ways: after you place the order or after simply selecting one or more items off a menu and not placing the order. After you place an order, you will be prompted to enter a name for the order, and then you can simply save the order by hitting [RETURN] or [ENTER]. Alternatively, you can create an order by selecting items from the menu, and then pressing the [CANCEL] button at the top of the menu. You will then be prompted to enter a name for the order along with your Username and Password. To replay a previous order, select [Register/Replay] off of the home page and follow the instructions at the bottom of the page.
